• PDF documents are tagged with “white text” placeholders using the preferred syntax.
• When a document is uploaded to the Notarize platform via API or UI, the platform locates white text placeholders and automatically adds the prescribed designations for signers and/or a notary to annotate the document.
Preferred White Text Syntax (syntax template in blue, three examples in red)

Prescribing Size of Designations
The size of designations are prescribed by the space inside the square brackets of the white text placeholders. To make the designation box taller, increase font size. To make it wider, add spaces before the closing square bracket.
Height – is prescribed by the height of the square brackets used for white text placeholders.
Width – is prescribed by the width created by the two square brackets.
