Learn how to edit or disable your team members as an admin in your business account. If you need to assign your account a new Owner, you can use the instructions below to do that as well.
Note: Only admins & owners can add, edit, or disable team members, including notaries.

🎯Primary Audience: Notarize for Business
Team Members
- In the top navigation of your Notarize account, select Resources.
- Select Team from the dropdown menu.
- Select the 3 dots next to the right of the user's name and choose one of the following from the dropdown menu that appears:
- To remove the user's access: Select the Disable Account.
- To change a user's role, select Edit Roles & Permissions:
- In the Edit Permissions window that appears, choose a new role in the dropdown menu. You can also set a user as an Account Owner here.
- In the Edit Permissions window that appears, choose a new role in the dropdown menu. You can also set a user as an Account Owner here.
- To remove the user's access: Select the Disable Account.
- Select the Save Changes button.
Notaries
If you have In-House Notaries enabled, you can adjust their permissions.
- In the top navigation of your Notarize account, select Resources.
- Select Team from the dropdown menu.
- Select Notaries from the menu on the left.
- Use the toggle under the Accepting Calls column to enable or disable your In-House Notaries:

🚨 Important: This toggle is only editable after the notary has been marked as enabled and compliant by Notarize.

- To disable a notary: Contact the Notary Onboarding team at notaryonboarding@notarize.com.
