Multi-Step Verification requires a user to present two or more forms of identification to prove their identity (Identity Proofing). This can include combinations of "something you have" (e.g., driver's license), "something you know" (e.g., personal information), and biometric validation (e.g., comparing a real-time selfie capture to the valid credential/ID provided).
When using Notarize, the methods available for verifying a signer's identity vary depending on the state where the notary is commissioned. Notaries often use Multi-Step Verification for Identity Proofing.
Multi-Step Verification at Notarize includes Credential Analysis, Knowledge-based Authentication (KBA), and sometimes Selfie + ID Comparison.
